CIHT Institution Award

Eligibility for the Award

The Institution Award is awarded to individuals for excellence within the transportation profession.

Criteria for the Award 

The award seeks to recognise an individual for excellence within the transportation profession and is based on the following criteria:

  • The person should have been responsible for or have promoted a major piece of research leading to the extension of knowledge in the field of highways and transportation.

OR

  • The person should have made a significant contribution to policy formulation technology or management in the field of highways and transportation.

OR

  • The person should have played an outstanding role in the provision of infrastructure which could be either a specific project or a concept with general application.

Trustees are invited to consider prospective candidates for the award every year and to submit nominations. Trustees are then invited to reach a decision on the prospective candidates.

Winners of the Institution Award 

Presuming an award is made, the selected nominee would be contacted to confirm their acceptance and prospective availability to receive the award at a CIHT event.
