The CIHT Awards is an annual global competition that provides the work you are most proud of with the international recognition it deserves. The awards celebrate your innovative work, what it takes to be the best and the incredible benefits your work and the highways and transportation sector bring to society.
Your role is to produce incredible work, our role is to celebrate best practice, promote your professionalism and give it the biggest stage.
We ensure there is no obstacle to enter. Free to enter, no project too big or too small, any location and judged by impartial expert judges with a diversity of experience and opinion.
The CIHT Awards have evolved to ensure the issues that the sector faces and the areas where the sector needs to excel are addressed. CIHT have introduce new awards to guarantee focus is given to these areas and that they will resonate even more with your audiences.
This award recognises projects or strategies by the highways and transportation industry that demonstrate a contribution to sustainable working practices, address climate change and creates environmental benefits with a global or local impact.
This award recognises those that have shown dedication to working in collaboration with other teams, organisations and/or sectors to deliver real solutions.
This award recognises how outstanding design and implementation of schemes in towns and cities improve the places around them.
This award recognises employers that have made an outstanding effort in engaging with their employees.
This award recognises exceptional engineering solutions in the highways and transportation sector that have delivered creative and resilient solutions.
This award recognises the contribution of transport to the health of the population.
This award recognises innovation in the industry, this could be in terms of research, technology, products, processes and services that have impacted the organisation, company or industry positively. There are no limits to the application of the innovation of the entry as long as it is related to the highways and transportation industry. Judging will consider the national and international impact of the entry and how applicable it is across the highways and transportation industry. The entry should include evidence of improved performance brought about by the innovation
This award recognises outstanding examples of highways and transportation infrastructure or services from outside the UK and Ireland.
The Road Safety Award, in memory of John Smart, recognises outstanding achievements which improve road user safety through excellent practice, design and technical application.
This award is aimed at celebrating the achievements of teams working within organisations in the Highways and Transportation sector.
This award recognises the value of transport planning in achieving positive outcomes for the benefit of the public, in creating new communities or on reducing the adverse impact of transport on communities.
This award recognises a CIHT member who has made an excellent contribution to the Highways and Transportation profession this year and demonstrates the values of CIHT.

To enter this year’s awards, your work needs to have been live at some point between 1/1/2019 and 28/02/2020 and can address all 4 judging criteria.
All entrants must provide clear evidence of support for the entry.
