Lynda (OBE BSc Dip TP FCIHT MTPS) is Chair of the Sustainable Transport Panel of CIHT, was until the 21st March 2019 the Chair of the Transport Planning Society as well as an Adviser to The Campaign for Better Transport.
She is a member of the Foundation for Integrated Transport’s Steering Group on Transport and New Homes as well as a Built Environment Expert for the Design Council.
As a Director of Garden City Developments CIC she is promoting 21st century “garden settlements” and is a former Trustee of Living Streets and of the TCPA. She is a town planner by profession and transport planner, receiving an OBE for services to planning in 2006 and the RTPI/TPS Transport Planning Network award in 2010.

She was founder and director of an award winning consultancy, Addison & Associates following leaving her last local government role as Director of Planning and Transport in the London Borough of Hounslow. She has worked at national and local level supporting central government and local authorities to improve planning and transport services, led on national best practice research and guidance ranging from the operation of travel planning, local plans and housing assessments to resourcing and delivering effective development management and local planning. She was until recently an English Heritage Commissioner, and a Visiting Professor in Planning at the University of Westminster.
Derek (TPP, FCIHT, FCILT) is an economist with degrees from the Universities of Liverpool and Birmingham. He is also a qualified transport planner and project manager with considerable experience of research, policy development and practice. Derek has a thorough appreciation of the public policy issues confronting both local and national government.
As a consultant, he has led and been involved in a wide variety of transport projects, several on the impact of the transport sector on climate change. He has appeared as an expert witness before Select Committees of both Houses of Parliament.
Derek was the CIHT Director of Technical Affairs from 1991-2000 and currently is a member of Council as well as the Learned Society and Technical Services Board and Sustainable Transport Panel.

Public bike share has become an increasingly important transport option and Mark is one of the UK’s leading experts in this field. He has carried out feasibility studies for many cities to help them decide whether they should develop a scheme, including Guildford, Derby, Greater Manchester and Brighton & Hove (the most successful scheme outside London).
In 2018/19 Mark represented CIHT on the Department for Transport steering group overseeing the development of a new Local Transport Note on the design of cycling infrastructure. When published in 2019 this will set out guidance for the development of high quality cycle provision.
