Aga, why is CPD so important to CIHT members and what are the benefits of planning and recording CPD?

Continuing professional development (CPD) is a way to ensure your skills and knowledge remain up to date throughout your career. Planning, maintaining, and reflecting on your CPD activities helps you to address any gaps in your knowledge and keeps you up to date with the challenges facing the sector. CPD can help you to make the most of any learning opportunities and can also help your career development. As a CIHT member you are expected to plan, record, and reflect on CPD throughout each year. You can use the new CPD course to strengthen the planning stage of your CPD journey and help you focus on the skills and knowledge you need. CIHT recommends that you review your development action plan (DAP) on CIHT Learn at least once a year or if your circumstances change.

Aga, what CIHT Learn features do you think are useful to members and would you recommend they complete updated CPD course on CIHT Learn?

The updated CPD course on CIHT Learn can greatly help you to plan your activities and achieve the goals you set yourself. The new CPD course is part of a great, constantly growing library of CPD topics and courses that are designed in a way that makes them fun to learn and easy to complete. Aga, what course have you recently completed on CIHT Learn and why?

During the year I completed several great courses such as: Highways asset management, motivating people, understanding disability, six steps to leading productive meetings and of course the updated CPD course. Quite a mixture and aptly demonstrates the broad range of topics available on CIHT Learn. I now plan to undertake the carbon literacy accounting course to gain a deeper understanding of this key topic.
