The second day of the Young Professionals Festival of Learning saw Vickie Bathe an Apprentice Civil Engineer from FM Conway announced as the CIHT Apprentice of the Year 2020.
CIHT's Apprentice of the Year Award celebrates the achievements of apprentices who work in the highways and transportation sector, and the organisations that put them at the heart of their business.
Martin Tugwell, CIHT President made the award at the first ever Young Professional’s Festival that is taking place this week.
Martin Tugwell, President, CIHT said:
“This year we were lucky enough to receive many high- quality applications, which came from some of the best and brightest apprentices within the sector. It was challenging to shortlist only five finalists from the outstanding applications and we must thank all the apprentices who made applications and all those who contributed to their development.”
“This year’s winner Vickie Bathe an Apprentice Civil Engineer with FM Conway impressed us with not only her knowledge of the sector but with the ideas and enthusiasm she showed throughout our interview process.”
Vickie Bathe said:
"I would say I am overjoyed to have won the award and couldn’t have done so without the support of the team I work with and backing of the company. They have given me the experience and skills I have today and am excited to develop and grow on these."
The announcement was made during the first day of the CIHT Young Professional Festival of Learning. This week-long digital event will see themes discussed including our Climate Future, Design & Planning, Emerging Technology, Skills and the Future of our Sector.
