CIHT East Midlands are delighted to host this webinar on Road Crash Prediction with Jacobs' Senior Road Safety Engineer, Jwan Kamla.
This webinar will be about general prediction models available for road safety data: collisions and near-misses. Jwan will go through traditional prediction models that have been used for decades. She will illustrate why they are no longer valid and what could go wrong in case applying them in practice. This will be followed by up-to-date research on this topic and Jwan will explain the reason behind the current approach. Then she will discuss statistical tools and touch upon some programmes that could be used to undertake such models/approaches.
The presentation will close with a case study which Jwan has undertaken as part of her PhD research. Briefly she will summarise the results of up-to-date collision prediction models undertaken on UK roundabouts.
This event will be most relevant for Road Safety Professionals.
