Notice is hereby given that the 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) - Hong Kong Region, will be held on Friday, 9 June 2023.
This year's AGM will be held in person at King Yat Hin, Level 8, Harbour Plaza Metropolis Hotel, 7 Metropolis Hotel Drive, Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong on Friday 9th June at 6 pm.
The AGM offers us an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next. It also provides an opportunity for CIHT members to hear about and get involved in the Hong Kong region’s activities.
The AGM will see the region’s Chair reflect on the past year and the successes of the region. The AGM will see the election of new committee members and will also see the appointment of the Chair and Officers to take forward the region’s plans for the next year.

The current 1st Vice Chairman, Mr. Raymond Pau, has been nominated by the Committee for his first term as the Chairman for the coming session. The current 2nd Vice Chairman, Mr. Alan Yan will continue his service as 1st Vice Chairman. In addition to the two past Regional Chairmen - Mr. Simon Chan and Dr. Gordon Leung, the following Committee Members will continue their service in the Committee in the year 2023/2024: Mr. Kevin Man, Mr. Mark Ngan, Mr. Terence Mak, Mr. Paul He, Mr. Chris Chiu, Mr. C K Law, Mr. Michael Wong, Mr. Martin Law, Dr. Ryan Wong, and Dr. Tony Sze. We welcome applications to become a committee member from across all membership grades and from all backgrounds within the transportation sector. Members from all parts of the Hong Kong are encouraged to put themselves forward for nomination as we look to cover as-wide-an-area as possible.
Becoming a CIHT Regional Committee member can help you expand your network with leading professionals in your area and help you stand out from the crowd. You can also find more information about the regional committee roles in the Regional Officers Area.
Joining your committee also counts towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and can lead to longer involvement in international CIHT activities.
Nominations to join the committee can be made using the regional committee nomination form.
Formal nominations must be made by 5pm on Friday 2nd June 2023. Applications should be supported by four regional members and completed with a declaration by you the candidate to show you are willing to stand. Where a position is contested by more than one member, the Honorary Secretary will provide members with a ballot paper to be returned by 6 June 2023. Please provide a short biography in the Nomination Form which will be sent to members in the case of a ballot. The results of the ballot will be announced in the AGM.
The Regional Committee will nominate the 2nd Vice Chairman and officers among the committee members directly. To allow wider representation, the Committee intends to propose several co-opted members from the industry to serve the new Committee in the 2023/2024 session. The meeting minutes of last AGM and the financial statement 2022 will be circulated separately for member’s information.
