In order to extract the greatest value from road related data, then it is important for all those organisation’s who collate road related data to make it accessible. There is a significant amount of open and freely available data in the UK, but the different road administrators can bring significant value to the table.
Data should be treated a critical asset as it can provide proper evidence and assessment.
Organisation’s need to have an element of flexibility and adaptability ‘baked’ into them to allow skills and capacity to understand and deliver future mobility.
Having a clear, forward looking strategy will allow organisation’s to utilize current data and technology as well and adapt to new sources. It will also allow organisation’s to collaborate with others early, providing stronger capability overall.
