Who is the event for?

The event is for highways and transportation professionals at all levels who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills on different types of contract and what they are used for.  

The event is a joint event between CIHT North West, TPS North West and CECA, members and non-members are welcome to attend. 

What to expect from the evening?  

The presentation will cover the following points and much more:

• What are the different types of contract?
• What are the advantages/disadvantages of the most common contracts?
• Are there certain types of job that use a particular contract.
• Contract pitfalls.

Speaker

Geraldine Fleming, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years, specialising in dispute resolution for the last 20. She has vast experience of, and has worked with, a range of contracts and sub-contracts including standard and non-standard forms and regularly draft and comments on such contracts. Geraldine has written numerous articles for publications, such as the AIS magazine, Builder and Engineer, and Confederation of Construction Specialists. One of her articles was also recently referred to in a government report on retentions.
