CIHT Yorkshire & the Humber have organised a fascinating presentation on the design and construction of the first fully solar powered park and ride site in the UK, based in Stourton, Leeds.
This presentation, brought to you by CIHT Yorkshire & the Humber, will include details of the design and construction of the Stourton Park and Ride project which is the first fully solar powered park and ride site in the UK. The following topics will be included in the presentation:

Pete Cranston, Project Manager, BAM Nuttall
Pete has worked in the UK construction industry in both the civils and building sectors for the past 25 years, providing engineering and project management services to large national and international organisations. Pete started his career as a land surveyor in Australia where he was born. He joined BAM Nuttall 3 years ago. He has been involved in the delivery of multiple LPTIP projects, working on design development, buildability reviews, business case development and project delivery for a range of transport improvement projects.
Andy Green, BAM Nuttall, Design Manager
Andy has 40 years’ experience, delivering bridge, highway and rail infrastructure projects and he is currently working for BAM Nuttall as the Design Manager for the Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme (LPTIP). During his career Andy has worked in a number of roles including Project Director, Project Manager, and Design Manager. He has worked as both client agent (for highway agencies and local authorities), and as the contractor’s designer. He also enjoyed 2 years working in Australia.
Sabby Khaira, Programme Executive Manager, Leeds City Council, Highways & Transportation
Sabby is a Civil Engineer with over 31 years’ experience in the fields of highways, transportation and the water industry. Most recently he has led the delivery of the £220m Connecting Leeds programme which has included development work, large scale consultation and delivery of transport improvements across Leeds. These transport improvements include new and expanded park and rides, city centre gateway schemes, core network bus corridor improvements and enhancements of local district centres.
James Nicholson, Civil Engineer, Mott MacDonald
James is a Civil Engineer working at Mott MacDonald. He has 6 years’ experience in transportation, highways and light rail related projects.
