The A38 corridor from Exeter to Bodmin is one of two strategic road routes across the peninsula, linking Cornwall, Plymouth, Torbay and Devon. The route has a notoriously high accident rate, and a lack of strategic investment to date means there is poor access between key centres, which is widely considered to be holding back regional economic growth.
In 2018, Sheryll Murray MP formed a Steering Group with local Councillors, local authority officers, resident groups and local stakeholders from across the wider region to drive the ‘A38 – Case for Action’. This seminar will discuss the novel approach to moving the scheme up the political agenda, and the current plans to improve safety on the route.
Transport Planners and Engineers interested in finding out more about plans in the South West region
